Culture beyond Tradición
Recetas explores and celebrates the richness and diversity of our Latina and U.S culture while helping each member of our community develop their own unique Receta (recipe) for their spirituality and self-care. We are proud of our roots and promote the unique identity of U.S. born and raised Latinas. We are of indigenous, African, mixed, and European descent. We speak Spanish, Spanglish, English and indigenous languages. Yet, our spirituality and identity is not fully that of our abuelitas or ancestors. We are proud of our Latina and American identity.
Welcoming Comunidad
No matter who you are, you are welcome. Recetas provides posada (hospitality) for Millennial and Gen Z Latinas to form community. We also welcome Latinas of all age demographics.
Dialogue and Respeto
Although many of us count on our own faith/spiritual traditions, Recetas explores the richness and wisdom of various traditions as a way to deepen and inform our own. Through respectful and kind dialogue we build a path towards greater understanding and encounter.
Relationship con Creación
We believe that the planet, its resources and animals are not just here to serve humanity and they have dignity, value, and worth. Our future products will be selected for being environmentally sustainable and for their cruelty free and just economic practices. We also promote education on our mutual relationship with the planet and all its creatures.
Economic Justicia
Our products are Fair Trade or Made in the U.S. and support responsible companies. We support the under-resourced and marginalized of the world through partnerships with Fair Trade co-ops that offer new economic opportunities to communities in Latin America, Africa, and around the globe. We provide education about the co-ops we support and how your purchases impact their communities while also enriching our own culture as U.S.-born and raised Latinas.
